Seit Wochen gehen hunderttausende von Menschen auf die Straße, um gegen die selbst ernannte Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) zu protestieren. Auslöser waren die Ergebnisse der Corretiv-Recherche, die nun das aufgedeckt hat, was viele gewusst und noch mehr befürchtet haben: Die Rede ist von einem ‚Masterplan‘. Ein Masterplan, der die Schaffung einer Sonderzone in Nordafrika vorsieht, um Millionen von Menschen abzuschieben, die als nicht ‚deutsch genug‘ empfunden werden. Sie nennen es ‚Remigration‘, was sie wirklich meinen, sind millionenfache Abschiebungen und Deportationen, unabhängig von der Staatsbürgerschaft.
Rechte und rassistische Narrative gewinnen an Boden, die Grenzen des Sagbaren verschwimmen. Mit der millionenfach abgedruckten Hetzschrift „Deutschland schafft sich ab“ von Thilo Sarrazin verschärfte sich ab den 2010er spürbar das gesellschaftliche Klima rund um die Themen Migration und Gastarbeiter:innen. Pegida brachte diesen Rassismus auf die Straße, die AfD brachte ihn zurück in die Parlamente.
Rassismus gehört wieder zum guten Ton im politischen Diskurs. In Sachsen-Anhalt sitzt die AfD mit rund 21 % im Landtag, direkt neben einer CDU-Fraktion, der ein Abgrenzungsproblem attestiert wird. Ulrich Siegmund, Fraktionsvorsitzender der als gesichert rechtsextrem eingestuften AfD-Landtagsfraktion, war Teilnehmer der Potsdam-Konferenz und brachte den sogenannten ‚Masterplan‘ am 25.01.24 auf die Tagesordnung des Landtags. Rassismus in Reinform wird diskutiert und dadurch salonfähiger.
In der Hoffnung im rechten Milieu auf Stimmenfang zu gehen, werden eifrig rassistische Erzählungen übernommen. Christian Lindner hetzt gegen Erwerbslose und Geflüchtete auf einer Bauerndemonstration, Friedrich Merz redet von „kleinen Paschas“, die Scholz massenhaft abschieben will. Auch die Solidaritätsbekundungen für die Demonstrationen der vergangenen Wochen können nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, dass Rassismus in der bürgerlichen Mitte verankert ist. Zeugnis dafür legt die jüngst vom Bundestag beschlossene Verschärfung des Asylrechts ab. Es handelt sich hierbei nicht nur um die Verschiebung von Grenzen des Sagbaren, das Problem besteht darin, dass Rassismus gesellschaftsfähig ist.
Zu oft bleibt es nicht nur bei der Hetze, zu oft werden aus Worten Taten. Immer wieder kommt es auch in Magdeburg zu fremdenfeindlichen Übergriffen. So erst am 19. Januar diesen Jahres in der Neustadt. Ein Rassist greift mehrere Menschen an, nur weil sie nicht Deutsch genug aussahen. Keine Einzelfälle, rechte Gewalt befindet sich in einer Hochkonjunktur. Parallel dazu sagte der Landtagspräsident Sachsen-Anhalts, Gunnar Schellenberger (CDU), eine für den 27.01.24, dem Tag des Gedenkens an die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus, angedachte Gedenkkundgebung ab. „Halt wach dein Gedächtnis“, die Aufschrift am Zugang zu den Gräbern des Westfriedhofs, ein Weckruf für uns alle, aktiv zu werden!
Es liegt an uns, der Gesellschaft, eine politische Kehrtwende einzufordern und den Raum für solidarische, gemeinsame Krisenlösungen zu öffnen, um den Schwur von Buchenwald – „Nie wieder Faschismus“ – gerecht zu werden: Nie wieder Faschismus, das ist keine Phrase, sondern eine Aufforderung zum Handeln! In diesem Sinne rufen wollen wir ein Zeichen gegen Ausgrenzung und Rassismus, für Solidarität und eine offene Gesellschaft setzen.
Kommt gemeinsam, am 04. Februar um 16:00 Uhr auf dem Willy-Brandt-Platz (Bahnhofsvorplatz), bringt Freunde und Freundinnen, Kolleginnen und Kollegen, Schilder und Banner mit. Alle zusammen gegen den Faschismus!

Magdeburg stands up – Together against racism!

For weeks, hundreds of thousands of people have been taking to the streets to protest against the self-proclaimed Alternative for Germany (AfD). This was triggered by the results of the Corretiv investigation, which has now revealed what many knew and even more feared: There is talk of a ‚master plan‘. A master plan that envisages the creation of a special zone in North Africa to deport millions of people who are perceived as not ‚German enough‘. They call it ‚remigration‘, what they really mean is millions of deportations, regardless of citizenship.
Right-wing and racist narratives are gaining ground, the boundaries of what can be said are becoming blurred. Thilo Sarrazin’s inflammatory pamphlet „Deutschland schafft sich ab“ (Germany is abolishing itself), which was printed millions of times, noticeably exacerbated the social climate surrounding the issues of migration and guest workers from the 2010s onwards. Pegida brought this racism onto the streets, and the AfD brought it back into parliaments.
Racism is normalised in the political discourse. In Saxony-Anhalt, the AfD sits in the state parliament with 21%, right next to a CDU parliamentary group that is said to have a demarcation problem. Ulrich Siegmund, parliamentary group leader of the AfD state parliamentary group, which is classified as being of the extreme right, was a participant in the Potsdam conference and put the so-called ‚master plan‘ on the state parliament’s agenda on 25 January. Racism in its purest form is being discussed, making it more acceptable.
Racist narratives are eagerly adopted in the hope of gaining votes in the right-wing milieu. Even the expressions of solidarity for the demonstrations of recent weeks cannot hide the fact that racism is anchored in the middle classes. The tightening of asylum laws recently passed by the Bundestag bears witness to this. This is not just a matter of shifting the boundaries of what can be said; the problem is that racism is socially acceptable.
Too often it is not just incitement, too often words become deeds. Xenophobic attacks occur again and again in Magdeburg. Just like on January 19 of this year in the Neustadt district. A racist attacked several people just because they didn’t look ‚German enough‘. These are not isolated incidents; right-wing violence is booming. At the same time, Saxony-Anhalt’s state parliament president, Gunnar Schellenberger (CDU), canceled a memorial rally planned for 27 January, the day of remembrance for the victims of National Socialism. „Keep your memory alive“, the inscription at the entrance to the graves of the West Cemetery, a wake-up call for us all to take action!
It is up to us, the society, to demand a political turn and open up the space for solidarity-based, joint solutions to the crisis in order to live up to the oath of Buchenwald – „Never again fascism“: Never again fascism, this is not a phrase, but a call to action! With this in mind, we want to send out a signal against exclusion and racism, for solidarity and an open society.

Une grande manifestation est prévue le dimanche 4 février dans le cadre des manifestations nationales anti-AfD à Magdebourg. À Magdebourg, il y a également eu une attaque à motivation raciste contre des migrants au milieu du quartier de Neustadt la semaine dernière. En outre, un rassemblement organisé vendredi à l’occasion de la Journée internationale en mémoire des victimes du national-socialisme a été interdit par le président du Parlement de l’État, Schellenberger (CDU), pour des motifs peu convaincants. Pour nous, en tant qu’initiatives antiracistes, il y a donc plus de raisons qu’il n’en faut pour descendre dans la rue afin de protester contre le glissement omniprésent vers la droite.
Nous voulons nous concentrer non seulement sur la montée de l’AfD, mais aussi sur la dénonciation des structures racistes qui imprègnent l’État allemand, des autorités chargées de l’immigration à la police, en passant par la législation raciste en vigueur. Il est très important pour nous de donner de l’espace à ceux qui sont affectés par le racisme. Nous vous invitons donc à remplir la manifestation de contenu et vous encourageons à exprimer vos préoccupations et les problèmes auxquels vous êtes confrontés. Que cela prenne la forme de banderoles, d’un discours ou d’une participation, c’est à vous de décider.
